URL QR Code

Convert any website link into a QR code

Frequently Asked Questions

What is a URL QR Code?

It is the most common type of QR code, used to direct people to a website, social media profile, or online menu when scanned.

Do I need to include 'https://' in the URL?

Yes. Including the full protocol ensures that all phones correctly identify it as a web link and open it in the browser immediately.

Can I change the destination URL later?

No. These are 'Static' QRs. The link is permanent. If you need to change it, you must generate and print a new QR code.

Does it work for social media links (Instagram, YouTube)?

Yes. You can link to your YouTube channel, Instagram post, or LinkedIn profile. Most phones will automatically open the corresponding app if installed.

How can I make the QR code scan-friendly?

Use a URL shortener (like Bitly) if your original link is very long. Shorter URLs create simpler, faster-scanning QR patterns.

Is the scanning tracked?

We do not track scans. If you want analytics (how many people scanned), you should use a tracking URL from a service like Bitly or your own UTM parameters.

Can I create a QR for a PDF file?

Yes. Upload the PDF to your website or Google Drive, then paste the file's shareable link into our URL generator.

Will it work on a business card?

Yes. URL QRs are the standard for business cards. Ensure the printed code is at least 1cm x 1cm for modern sensors to read it.

Why does my scan show 'Page Not Found'?

This happens if there's a typo in the URL you entered or if the destination website is down. Always double-check your link before printing.

Is it safe to link to my personal portfolio?

Yes. It's a professional and modern way to share your work. Just ensure your portfolio doesn't contain sensitive private data you don't want public.
